| How It Works Points will be awarded for participation and placing
in every Planet Pool® Tour event, with the tour culminating in a year-end final
championship in November 2000. The winner will receive the grand prize of a Diamond pool
table - installed in his/her home.
Players will earn points simply for entering
tournaments, in order to prevent two or three-time winners of events not to participate in
remaining events, which means everybody will have a chance to finish in the top spots
right up until the end of the season.
Certain events will have a double points
value, but no-one will know until the day of the tournament, making things even more
interesting.
Women's Points
There has been some confusion as to why the
ladies' points scores are lower than the men's, and that the winners
have not been awarded the 50 points as laid out previously. The
reason for that is that there are far less entries for the ladies'
division than for thedivision, and instead of awarding the
points from first place down to the last placing, it has been
awarded the other way around, i.e. 5 points for 7-8th, 10 for 5-6th
and so on, giving the winner 30 points instead of 50 as for the
men's.
All the ladies results
will be rechecked, and their points revised, but since that is a
time-consuming task, it will take a while before the new points list
is published. It
makes no big difference, except for perhaps the lower ranked ladies,
and for now, the breakdown for all results to date is laid out
below.
